Jaguar Land Rover Porsche Volvo of Greenville Raises Awareness for Breast Cancer Research

It’s October, which means that it is, once again, Breast Cancer Awareness month. That means that this month, Jaguar Land Rover PorscheVolvo of Greenville is going pink as we help to raise awareness for breast cancer research and support.

Other than skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common cancer among American women. Because of breast cancer’s vast reach that means that it is something that affects each and every one of our lives in one way or another. Entire families are affected by this disease. While we’re making progress, the numbers are still high. One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. Most breast cancers are found in women who are 50 years old or older, but breast cancer can also affect younger women. About 10% of all new cases of breast cancer in the United States are found in women younger than 45.

Due to these statistics, we have a mission to help those who are feel the impact of breast cancer through both education and early detection. Being educated about breast health is huge. Making sure that you are taking advantage or screenings and free resources is key. For those who are diagnosed, we should all make sure that we are a supportive hand to help those making their way through the complex and confusing world of the cancer care system.

The biggest factor in breast cancer survival is early detection is key. You should be aware of early warning symptoms and signs and also make sure that you are performing breast self-exams each and every month. In addition, you should make sure that each and every year you’re getting your breast exam and mammograms from a qualified heath professional. During these wellness checks, you will be checked for suspicious lumps and any other physical changes that should be further investigated.

For those looking to help the fight for the cause, we invite you to become inspired. You can help by creating a fundraising campaign, like creating a charity walk, volunteering with a nationally recognized charity, raising funds through local sports teams, having a bake sale, and more. If we work together, we can all help the woman and men who are impacted at every step of the breast cancer journey.
